Recently, Iran's nuclear issue has taken new impetus in international politics. Essentially, Iran has started to work again on uranium enrichment. This is of course a tragic situation that has taken place in the wake of the US abandonment of the G-5+Germany Nuclear Agreement with Iran in 2015.
According to the agreement, Iran was supposed to enrich Uranium below 4%. As per the UN latest report revealed at the beginning of January 2021, Tehran has started to enrich up to 20% Uranium which is a weapon-grade process. Primarily, Iran needs to enrich 90% uranium if it plans to develop a nuclear weapon.

On the other hand, Iran claims the enrichment is aimed at peaceful purposes. It has started the said above work after the USA intensified crippling sanctions on Iran and Trump's administration's decision to withdraw from the agreement in 2018. According to President Trump, the Nuclear Agreement concluded in 2015 with Iran is decaying and Tehran is building its nuclear weapon.
However, the remaining signatories including Russia, China, UK, France, and Germany are optimistic regarding the agreement and hope the situation will work positively. Given the US withdrawal from the agreement, the deployment on a strategic level by the US forces in the Gulf indicates the situation going adversely and igniting another war scenario in the region.
