Conflict Between India and Pakistan: the Heightening Confrontation, Likely War and Full Escalation

According to reports, the heavy exchange of artillery fire between Indian and Pakistani troops alongside the LOC took place some 24 hours ago. In this exchange of fire, an Indian shell targeted the UN vehicle carrying its blue flag.

Fortunately, both UN military observers escaped from the demise. The incident has exposed the confrontational situation in the region. It has also indicated that the scenario may inflame at any moment and will destabilize the region (See Conflict and Cooperation in South Asia: Role of Major Powers ).  Therefore, peaceful existence is getting away day by day (See Conflict between India and Pakistan ). An absolute adversity exists between the two countries on the Kashmir Conflict.

On the parallel hand, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Dubai and avowed to make sincere efforts for strengthening peace and stability in the region. He confirmed it while discussing many other areas and dimensions of mutual interests with The UAE Foreign Minister.  This meeting included another statement from Mr. Qureshi that the law and order situation in Kashmir was on a consistent decline.

This high profile diplomatic engagement endorses that the heightened situation between Pakistan and India reaches its peak in the present circumstances. The regional peace and stability situation also seems at stake while the following development is overt. Pak Army Chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa has emphasized the troops' professional readiness to face the geo-strategic challenges in the region.

In other words, he confirms that Shaheen IX a joint military drill between Chinese and Pakistani air forces will enable the two forces to meet future challenges. All these shreds of evidence are adequate to maintain that the stability and peace in the region are on the brink of a swamp. It may cause a catastrophe at any time.

No one can survive if the war breaks out between the two sides. Therefore, it is mandatory for the stakeholders to step up conscious efforts for the sake of regional as well as international peace and stability.
