After approximately 2 months and the irrefutable failure of talks and mutual settlements, the Red Fort came under attack of the angry mob in New Delhi. The farmers who seemed to be very desperate at the hands of the governments’ representatives’ inefficient as well as apathetic attitude to find out a solution to deal with the farmers’ demands positively appeared to be violent and captured the Red Fort ultimately.

Thousands of Indian farmers who were protesting against the agricultural reforms entered the historic Red Fort and hoisted flags. On the other hand, police led one of its biggest operations in years to keep the government, military leaders, and the Prime Minister safe from the demonstrators’ anger.

The mob overthrew the entire barricades set up to stop the protesters' advancement. One protester has died during the struggle which police have announced as the result of an accident. The police applied all available resources to force the farmers to flee. These techniques can be taken into consideration as follows:

A. It fired tear gas.

B. The police staged baton charges.

C. The authorities disconnected internet and phone links during the late night.

D. The link roads and streets were also blocked.

Now, the government announces the protests to be the ploy of the opposition parties. Likewise, the farmers’ protests are in full swing in Mumbai, Bangalore, and in the rural state of Haryana.

The farmers’ hosted the flag of the Khalistan movement on The Red Fort. Certainly, it is a failure of the largest democracy as maintained by the Indian experts in the world. The following characteristics are of significant importance regarding the Red Fort incident in New Delhi which is as follows:

 A. The political vision that a democratic government should have was absent. They remained deliberately unable to handle the situation as per the democratic norms. To delay the protest with intermittent talks was not an efficient solution. Hence, the sitting Indian government under Narendra Modi lacked in vision.

B. The institutes and experts that are responsible for policy researches have also remained incapacitated in finding out an exact solution.

C. New Delhi is “Category A Area” on the part of governmental writ and the Red Fort is in Red Zone. If the Red Fort is captured by the mob and a flag of Khalistan movement is hosted on it, then the Indian defense establishment is incapable of ensuring national security at all levels. The area B vis-a-vis national security is an obvious loophole that the adversarial state can exploit easily.

D. Indian decision-makers are busy fueling jingoism with both Pakistan and China and announce to cope with the two states jointly while their security arm is as weak as it could not keep the Red Zone safe. Certainly, this development has unveiled Indian security shortcomings.

Therefore, it is obvious to observe that the capture of the Red Fort, etc is not only the failure of the larger democracy in the world but also the portent of the Indian security loopholes. The decision-makers in New Delhi should relinquish the war-mongering and seek the norms that may lead the south Asian region towards stability and peace.
